Stand out of the crowd with
Camera body has a unique "asphalt-like" surface texture, which is achieved by a multi-layer spray process that provides a smooth-but-non-slippery feel.
A striking yellow-orange has been chosen as the accent color to on the camera's ring cap This specific yellow was chosen as it is reminiscent of traffic lines painted on streets.
The Street Edition features a special power-off graphic with a street-like background and special logo.
In addition to the cosmetic differences, the GR III Street Edition also includes the Full Press Snap feature, which lets you instantly shift the focus point of the lens to a preselected position when the shutter release button is fully pressed. This function can also be assigned to the rear LCD, where you simply tap the touchscreen to quickly change focus, and ignore the standard AF process, to help intuitively capture fleeting moments.
Featuring a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor pairs with a new GR Engine 6 to produce high-resolution 14-bit DNG or JPEG stills with impressive tonality, natural color rendering, and low noise high sensitivity from ISO 100-102400.
In addition to full-resolution, wide-angle images, a pair of useful crop modes—35mm at 15MP and 50mm at 7MP—let you simulate the look of working with longer focal lengths. At video front, the GR III is also capable of recording Full HD 1080 video at 60p, 30p, and 24p frame rates.
A fixed prime 28mm equivalent wide-angle lens, which is complemented by a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture to suit working in a variety of lighting conditions. The optical construction incorporates six elements in four groups, including two aspherical elements that help to reduce spherical aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness and accurate rendering.
Two focusing modes also suit working with general subjects, from 3.9" to infinity, while a dedicated macro setting benefits working with close-up subjects within a 2.4-4.7" range. Additionally, the redeveloped lens design also results in greater contrast and measures 1.5mm thinner than previous GR/GR II digital cameras.
An internal two stop-effective (ND 0.6) filter is also available for either slowing the shutter speed or permitting working with a wider aperture setting, and the lens has a nine-blade diaphragm to contribute to a smooth bokeh quality.
Featured for the first time in a GR camera, a 3-axis Shake Reduction System helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake in order to promote sharper handheld shooting at slower shutter speeds. It helps to yield up to 4 stops compensation.
The Shake Reduction System has been optimized for use with the built-in 28mm-equivalent lens, which renders it smaller and more effective. Additionally, the SR unit also offers moiré reduction and dust removal capabilities.
Integrated 3.0" 1.037m-dot LCD features a capacitive touchscreen design for intuitive, familiar operation during shooting, playback, and menu navigation.
The rear layout of the camera has been completely redesigned and prioritizes a larger, more comfortable thumb grip along with easily accessible physical dials. Additionally, the ADJ lever, FN button, and Touch AF operations can be programmed to handle specific assignable functions for more personalized control.
Start-up time has been reduced to 0.8 sec ensure you are always ready to reponse to one in a life time shot.
USB Type-C port allows you to transfer files or recharge the battery in-camera.
High-speed hybrid AF- Hybrid AF performance for more seamless operation. Image plane phase-matching AF delivers high-speed AF and contrast-detection AF offers superb focusing precision. The best of these two types are combined to make a hybrid AF. The common issue of searching for focus peaks in contrast-detection AF is now a yesterday news. The hybrid system delivers faster autofocus and greater precision.
Direct controls allows the camera is equipped with an LCD monitor that supports touch operations and a convenient control dial. These features provide quick control over AF frame movement and menu access. Touch AF allows user to select the focal point from the LCD screen. It can even allow user to trigger the shutter release from the LCD screen.
Flexible customization allows Frequently used functions can be assigned to the ADJ lever and Fn button. Other controls can also be customized for fine tuning camera operation, making the camera easier to use and to match your shooting style.
Image Control & JPEG image adjustment features many selections of advanced image creation functions. Image adjustment parameters have been redesigned to 10 Image Control options for shooting. During playback, image tones of JPEG can be adjusted and saved as a new file.
Integrated Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi afford wireless connectivity between the camera and a paired mobile device, and allows you to embed location info within your files as well as transfer files to your mobile device, even when the camera is turned off.
